Golf Finishes 14th at Visit Stockton Invitational

Stockton, Calif. – Temple Golf, which had not finished lower than sixth in its first four tournaments, struggled for the first time all season, placing 14th at the highly-competitive Visit Stockton Invitational Saturday. The Owls, dealing with a flu outbreak on the squad, were six-over for their final round and 14-over for the event.
Recapping Day Three
> McGrath posted his 11th round at-or-below par, shooting a two-under 69 to finish the tournament tied for fifth overall with a nine-under 204. The Owl junior had three birdies on the day, including two of his final four holes for his 10th round of the season in the 60s.
> Junior Buddy Hansen had his best round as an Owl, joining McGrath as the only Temple golfers under-par for the round with a one-under 70. He finished tied for 61st overall with a five-over 218.
> Graham Chase was second overall for Temple, finishing with a four-over 217 to tie for 57th. He struggled with a five-over on his front nine but finished strong with two birdies to go one-under on the back nine for a 75.
> Ethan Whitney and Dawson Anders rounded out the Owls' five, shooting 17-over 230s for the tournament.

> Washington State (816) held off a charging St. Mary's (817) to win the tournament by one stroke. San Jose State (829) was a distant third.
> Max Sekulic of Washington State shot a nine-under 62 for his final round to win the tournament with a 16-under 197. He edged St. Mary's Kristian Bressum (198) by one stroke.
