Temple Mourns Passing of Football's Monte Cole

PHILADELPHIA - Temple University mourns the loss of Monte N. Cole, a football player who lettered in 1975 under former head coach Wayne Hardin.
Cole played defensive tackle alongside former Owl Joe Klecko for two seasons after attending Hargrave Military Academy.
Following college, Cole owned and operated Monte's Personal Training Gym for 35 years, where he was dedicated to helping others achieve their fitness goals. He loved all sports, especially the New York Yankees. Monte will be remembered for his warm welcome and devotion to his family and friends. He is predeceased by his mother, Priscilla (Albright) Cole.

Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife of 44 years, Jane (Garst) Cole of Liverpool, NY, daughter, Lisa (Ben) Burnett of Cazenovia, NY, his father, Douglas K. Cole of Liverpool, NY, two grandchildren; Benjamin and Jane Burnett, brother, Ed (Mary Kay) Cole of Camillus, NY, sister, Cheri Cole (Bob Creek) of Rancho Cucamonga, CA, sister-in-law, Judy Garst of Liverpool, many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, November 5, 2021 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the Maurer Funeral Home Moyers Corners, 3541 State Rt 31 Baldwinsville.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 6, 2021 at 11:00 am in Faith Journey United Methodist Church, 8396 Morgan Road, Clay, NY 13041.
