10.29.21 | Women's Cross Country
PHILADELPHIA- Temple women's cross country picked up its third top-5 finish of the season Friday at the AAC Championship. Michelle Joyce was able to dominate the race and finished in third place with a time of 21:21.0. Joyce has been the leader for Temple all season and this race was a statement for her to qualify for the NCAA Championship in November. The Owls saw career-best races from Dominyka Petraskaite, Laura Nicholson, and Mia Dubac, who all finished in the top-35.

- Joyce's third-place finish is the second-best finish in program history only behind Blanca Fernandez who won in 2016. Joyce concludes her career by earning All-Conference honors four years in a row, making her the most decorated cross country runner in program history.
- "Every season our goal is to be at our best when it matters most and today truly epitomized that sentiment. The majority of our group ran the best races of their season and we came within a few points of the runner-up trophy. I'm hopeful that this can be a jumping-off point for the team as we look to improve upon these performances in subsequent years. We were fighting through the line in our scoring positions and really progressed well over the 2nd half of the race".
- "I'm happy with my race, I left everything out on the course and I'm proud of my teammates for racing really well collectively to be third as a team" said Joyce.
- Joyce led the Owls with a third-place finish.
- Five Owls finished in the top thirty-five, including three top-20 finishes.
- The Golden Hurricane picked up the top spot with the Bearcats and the Owls rounding out the top-3.
