HAVERTOWN, Pa. – Buddy Hansen led Temple and placed ninth with a three-over 74, but the Owls finished fourth out of five teams at the 18-hole City 6 Saturday at Llanerch Country Club to complete their six-tournament fall campaign.
Recapping the Day
> Hansen, making his second start of the season, had a team-high four birdies for his round. It was his best finish of the season and the first time in his career he led the team at a tournament.
> Dawson Anders and Ethan Whitney both shot four-over 75s to tie for 10th overall. It was Anders' first Top 10 finish of the fall and Whitney's second in his first six collegiate tournaments.
> Graham Chase tied for 16th with a five-over 76 to round out the Temple scorers.
> Conor McGrath, the team's top golfer during the fall season, had his worst round of the fall, a seven-over 78. It was just his third over-par among the 14 rounds during the season.
> Joey Morganti rounded out the team's six golfers with an 83.
The Field
> Drexel ran away with the tournament, defeating second place Villanova by nine strokes (287 to 296). Saint Joseph's was third (299), one shot better than Temple (300). La Salle (303) rounded out the field.
> La Salle's Matthew Werner and Drexel's Angelo Giantsopoulus tied for medalist honors with one-under 70s.
Quotable: Head coach Brian Quinn
> "Give all the credit to Drexel, they were really great today. We just did not have it today. We came out really flat and it just was not our day."
> "I want to thank Llanerch Country Club for hosting this city championship and letting our young men play on their wonderful course."
