WOMEN'S ROWING MEDALS TWO TIMES AT THE HEAD OF THE SCHUYLKILL

PHILADELPHIA — The Temple women's rowing team had a competitive day racing at the 2021 Head of the Schuylkill Regatta. The Owls grabbed a silver medal in the women's freshman four and a gold medal in the women's club eight. The Owls competed in five events with a total of seven boats racing down the Schuylkill River.
From the Coach
>"Today was a really strong day", said head coach Rebecca Grzybowski. "I thought our performance as a team was a representation of all the hard work we have been putting in together this fall. The collective energy was great and every boat was racing hard and with intensity. We had some good results on the race course including two boats with medals which is always fun and we are hungry for more."
Women's Freshman Four
>Temple had one boat compete in the freshman four event.
>Temple grabbed the silver medal and recorded a time of 14:42.022 in a field of 17 boats.
Women's Championship Four
>Temple had two entries compete in the championship four event in a deep field of 40 boats.
>Temple "A" finished in 11th place with a time of 14:53.508.
>Temple "B" finished close behind in 13th place clocking in 14:58.480.
Women's Freshman Eight
>The Owls raced in their first collegiate race. Temple finished 9th and clocked a time of 15:46.802.
Women's Club Eight
>Temple had two boats in the club eight category.
> The Owls had a great day of racing while competing in a deep field of 36 boats.
>Temple "A" grabbed the gold medal and clocked a time of 12:41.297.
>Temple "B" finished close behind in 5th place with a time of 13:21.493.
Women's Champ Eight
>The Owls placed 5th out of 7 boats with a time of 12:48.132.
