PHILADELPHIA – Temple women's soccer (3-4-3, 1-2-0 AAC) will travel to East Carolina (5-7-1, 0-2-1 AAC) this Thursday, Oct. 7 for their fourth conference match of the year. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN+ at 7 p.m. from Johnson Stadium in Greenville, N.C.

The Owls
  • Temple women's soccer dropped to 3-4-3 (1-2-0 AAC) on the season after falling to Tulsa, 4-1 for their first home loss of the season last Thursday.
  • After dishing out another assist in the match against the Golden Hurricane, Lexy Endres now has five on the season, recording two in the last three conference games to put her as the AAC assist leader in conference play and second in overall assists on the season.
  • Emily Kavanaugh remains as the team leader in points, netting a career high of six goals to total 12 points. With this, Kavanaugh is now tied for first in the AAC in conference play goals and tied for second in overall goals.
  • Last week, Kavanaugh earned AAC Offensive Player of the Week honors for her two-goal performance in the 3-2 come-from-behind win over Cincinnati. Kavanaugh is only the second Temple women's soccer player to receive this honor with the last recipient coming in 2015 after Kelly Farrell registered a hat trick in a 3-1 defeat over Saint Joseph's.
  • Kamryn Stablein remains a force in goal for the Cherry and White, entering the match with 57 saves to earn her spot as the American Athletic Conference overall leader. Stablein's performance this season also puts her at 25th in the national rankings for saves per game (6.33).
Scouting East Carolina
  • East Carolina enters the match with a contest record of 5-7-1 (0-2-1 AAC), facing conference losses to No. 17 SMU and defending AAC Champions, USF.
  • The Pirates are led by the talented freshmen duo of Haley McWhirter and Samantha Moxie. McWhirter has netted three goals on the year while Moxie has been instrumental in the teams scoring opportunities, dishing out three assists and netting one goal.
  • Sophomore goalkeeper Maeve English has recorded 49 saves for a 0.721 save percentage with 1209 minutes played.
  • Three Pirates picked up Weekly Honors from the AAC this week in McWhirter, Morgan Dewey and English. McWhirter earned Rookie of the Week Honors for her one goal performance in the 1-1 draw against Cincinnati while Dewey and English earned a spot on the Weekly Honor Roll.
  • Last year, East Carolina went 3-6-2 (3-3-2 AAC), dropping 1-0 to USF in the conference semifinal to place fourth in the AAC end of the year rankings.
