GREENVILLE, N.C. - The Temple volleyball team (4-12, 0-5 AAC) dropped its sixth-straight match Friday afternoon with a 3-0 loss at ECU (7-8, 3-3 AAC).
How It Happened
> The first set started out tight, with neither team finding more than three points of separation.
> Temple made back-to-back blocks followed by a Pirate attacking error and an ace from Katerina Papazoglou to take a 15-11 lead.
> ECU scored the next six of seven, keeping it even through the next four points before the Pirates ran away with the set and sealed the win, 25-21.
> The Pirates jumped ahead early in the second set, taking a 6-3 lead before the Owls were able to take a 7-6 lead on a Magdalena Rogalska kill.
> The teams kept it even until the end of the set, trading points until ECU took a 20-17 lead and won the set 25-19.
> ECU opened the third set strong, going up by as much as seven (15-8) mid-way through the set.
> The Pirates took a 21-12 lead and never looked back, winning the set 25-16 to sweep the match.
