Volleyball to Continue League Play

PHILADELPHIA - The Temple volleyball team (4-11, 0-4 AAC) will hit the road in search of its first win in league play, heading to ECU and Cincinnati for the third weekend of AAC competition.

Owl About Temple
> The Owls are back on the road for the second road weekend in conference play.
> Temple is 0-4 in AAC play, going to four sets in the first three and being swept by Houston last weekend.
> Gem Grimshaw leads the Owls' offense on the right side with 3.62 kills per set, she also adds 2.73 digs per frame to rank second on the team.
> Miray Bolukbasi (2.94 k/s) and Katerina Papazoglou (1.45 k/s) also provide offense from the outside.
> In the middle, Taylor Davenport averages 1.28 kills per set, with a team-leading 1.23 blocks per frame.
> Patrycja Zielinska distributes the offense to the tune of 8.64 assists per set, while Falanika Danielson leads the team with 4.34 digs per set.

Scouting ECU
> ECU is 6-8 (2-3 AAC) on the season, falling to Cincinnati Wednesday night in straight sets and dropping to seventh in the conference standings.
> The Pirates have dropped three of the last five and went 2-1 at the Priate Invitational to close out non-conference play.
> The team is tenth in hitting percentage (.168), with Janiece Jefferies (.545) leading the Pirates.
> Bri Wood is seventh in the AAC in kills per set (3.08) while Natalie Tyson is just outside the top-10 with 2.92 kills/set.

Temple vs. ECU
> Temple and ECU have met 12 times, with the Owls holding an 8-4 advantage.
> The teams split the spring 2021 series, with Temple taking the second match in four sets.
> The Cherry and White is 4-2 on the road, with its only losses in Greenville, N.C. coming last season and in 2019.

> UC topped ECU Wednesday night in straight sets, its first sweep of the season, and is second in the conference standings.
> The team is sixth in the AAC in hitting percentage (.196), but leads the league in kills per set with an average of 13.29.
> Abby Walker leads the team's offensive effort, coming in ninth in hitting percentage (.309), while Maria Mallon is sixth in kills per set (3.14).

> This is the 19th meeting between the teams, with Temple holding an 11-7 advantage.
