11.22.21 | Football

This Week
Temple returns to Lincoln Financial Field for the final game of the 2021 regular seasonto take on the Navy Midshipmen on Nov. 27 at 12:00pm. The Owls will celebrate Senior Day on Saturday and the game will be broadcast on ESPNU and 97.5 The Fanatic.

Last Week
Last week, the Owls struggled on the road against the Tulsa Golden Hurricane, falling 44-10. The Owls got in a hole early on in this one, falling behind by 27 points going into the second half. From there, Temple was unable to claw its way back into the game. QB Justin Lynch made his fourth career start, tossing a touchdown late in the third quarter to Amad Anderson Jr. for Temple's lone touchdown of the night.

Last Time vs. Navy
The Owls lost a tightly-contested affair in last year's season opener when they faced off against the Midshipmen, falling 31-29. The game was a high-scoring affair with neither team being forced to punt until the second half. The Owls outgained the Midshipmen 407-299 and were 75% on third-down conversions, but a pair of failed two-point conversions in the fourth quarter was the difference in the game. Trailing 28-17 early in the fourth quarter, Anthony Russo's second rushing touchdown made it a one possession game, but a failed two-point conversion kept the Navy lead at five. On the ensuing Navy drive, the Midshipmen dominated the clock and the time of possession like they had throughout the game, and ended the drive with a 50-yard field goal to extend the lead back to eight. In a game in which Temple never led, the Owls had a chance with just over a minute remaining in the game to force overtime after a one-yard touchdown run from Re'Mahn Davis trimmed the Midshipmen lead to 31-29. However, the deciding moment for the Owls came shortly after when a failed two-point conversion try from Russo to Davis fell short. Wide receiver Branden Mack and tight end David Martin-Robinson both recorded over 70 yards receiving while Mack added a 13th receiving touchdown to his career totals. On the defensive side, Isaiah Graham-Mobley set a career-high for tackles (14) and William Kwenkeu logged 11 stops.

Last Time vs. Navy @ Lincoln Financial Field
The last time Temple played Navy at Lincoln Financial Field was four years ago in 2017, when the Owls defeated the Midshipmen 34-26. QB Frank Nutile threw for 289 yards and four touchdowns. Wide Receivers Adonis Jennings and Keith Kirkwood each found the endzone to lead the offensive output. On the defensive side of the ball, DE Sharif Finch led the team with nine tackles and two sacks, while SAF Delvon Randall added an interception.
