PHILADELPHIA – Quentin Reed and Zach Sterrett have joined the Temple University Athletics Strategic Communications staff, announced Senior Associate Athletics Director Larry Dougherty.

Reed comes to Temple from Coastal Carolina, where he was a member of their communications staff for over four years while Sterrett was promoted to full-time status after spending the previous year as a graduate extern on the Owls' staff.

"Quentin and Zach are tremendous young professionals in the athletics communications industry, and we are excited to have them as members of the Temple Athletics family," said Dougherty.

Reed, who will oversee communications for the women's volleyball and women's gymnastics teams at Temple, served as the primary contact for volleyball, softball, cross country, and track & field teams during his tenure at Coastal Carolina. He promoted and publicized a 2020 Paralympian, four NCAA All-Americans, four NCAA Championship qualifiers, three conference championship appearances, and countless all-conference honorees.

While attending graduate school at Pfeiffer University, he worked with all 19 varsity sports, including the undefeated 2015 NCAA DII Men's Soccer National Championship team.

Reed got his start in the athletic communications career in the early 2010's volunteering at DII West Virginia State, DIII University of Mary Washington, and the Fredericksburg Area Soccer Association.

The Bellefonte, Pa. native is a graduate of Penn State University in 2007 earning a Bachelor of Arts in communications, specializing in journalism. He then went on to earn a Master of Science in Leadership at Pfeiffer University in 2017.

"I would like to thank Larry Dougherty, and the entire hiring committee for the exciting opportunity to join Temple's Athletic Communications team," said Reed. "The pride, passion, and excitement that I have witnessed from our student-athletes, coaches, and administrators over my first several days on campus has been tremendous. I am grateful to be a member of this prestigious University and will serve it proudly."

A native of Middletown, Del., Sterrett began working in the Temple athletics strategic communications office at the beginning of the 2020 academic school year while pursuing his Master of Science in Sports Business.  He has filled several roles in his short time, serving as the primary contact for men's crew, as well as the secondary contact for football.  In his new position, he will be the main communications contact for women's basketball, men's and women's cross country, and women's track & field.

Sterrett earned his bachelor's degree in Sports Media at Butler University while minoring in business administration.  Sterrett played a pivotal role with the Bulldogs' communications staff, where he managed social media accounts, created photo galleries, produced gameday programs, and wrote game recaps and releases for football and volleyball teams.

"I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to continue working with the terrific communications team and athletics department that Temple has to offer. The student-athletes at Temple are truly second to none, and I am excited to promote them to give them the recognition that they deserve."

Sterrett also completed two internships to meet his undergraduate degree requirements, one as a communications intern for USA Football and the other as a public relations intern for the Indianapolis Colts.
