Women's Basketball Looks to Bounce Back Against Northwestern

PHILADELPHIA - The Owls take back to the air for their fourth road game in the past five contests for a matchup against Northwestern. The game is scheduled for Friday, Dec. 17 at 7:00pm CST and is scheduled to air on Big Ten Plus.

LAST GAME
> In their last time out, the Owls' three-game winning streak was snapped as they fell to Saint Joseph's in a Big 5 battle, 73-63. 
> The Owls led by one with just over three minutes remaining in the first half, but an 8-0 run gave the Hawks a seven-point lead entering the second half. The Owls fought in the second half to take the lead but were unable to do so.
> Jasha Clinton: team-high 24 points on 10-15 shooting. Led the team with five assists and four steals.
> Mia Davis: 18 points on 6-10 shooting from the floor. Led the team with nine rebounds.

THE OWLS
> The Owls are coming off their first loss in the their last four games after their three-game winning streak was snapped against Saint Joseph's.
> Temple is led by forward Mia Davis, last week's American Athletic Conference Player of the Week. Over the course of the season, Davis has averaged 16.4 points per game and 7.8 rebounds per game to lead the team in both categories.
> Sophomore Jasha Clinton is looking to build off of her best game of the season against St. Joe's. Clinton scored a career-high 24 points while leading the team in assists and steals.
> Freshman Aniya Gourdine has quickly transitioned into a regular contributor for the Owls. Gourdine averages 6.1 points per game, 4.1 rebounds per game, and 1.8 steals per game.

SCOUTING NORTHWESTERN
> The WIldcats are in the midst of a four-game winning streak, coming off a win against Milwaukee on Tuesday, 55-46.
> Northwestern is led by senior guard Veroinca Burton who leads the team in points (18.1) and steals (3.6). The team captain scored a season-high 32 points against Clemson earlier in the winning streak.
> The WIldcats boast one of the best defensive teams in the Big Ten in regards to forcing turnovers. In the early part of the season, NU leads the conference in steals (10.4) and blocks (6.4) per games.

LAST TIME THEY MET
> This is the first meeting between Temple and Northwestern.

UP NEXT
> The Owls return home for a game against Old Dominion on Dec. 22 at 12:00pm. The women's team opens the day followed by the men's team for a doubleheader.
> The game will air on ESPN+.
