Julianna Roland Named EAGL Gymnast of the Week

PHILADELPHIA -- After a record setting performance over the weekend, Temple junior Julianna Roland was named the East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) Co-Gymnast of the Week on Tuesday.
Roland keyed an impressive comeback from Temple as the Owls rallied in the final event to tie Pitt on Sunday. She tied a program record for Temple on vault, scoring a 9.900, to win the event title. Roland became only the second gymnast ever to reach that mark as an Owl, and the first in 25 years to do so.
Continuing her impressive weekend, she also tallied a 9.875 on beam as Temple put together a rotation that not only made up nearly a one-point deficit, but now stands as the program's second best beam rotation in school history.Â
This is Roland and Temple's first career EAGL Gymnast of the Week honor.
