Lacrosse Opens Season at Delaware

PHILADELPHIA- The Temple lacrosse team will open the 2021 season Saturday with a match-up against the Delaware Blue Hens. The 12 p.m. game will be live streamed on the "UDBlueHens" YouTube channel from Delaware Stadium.
SEASON OPENER
>Â Saturday's game will serve as the 2021 season opener for both teams.
>The 2020 season was interrupted by the COVID-19 Pandemic after just nine games.

SCOUTING TEMPLE
> Temple returns several keys pieces from the 2020 season including, point and assist leader Meghan Hoffman and five-year captain Kara Nakrasius. Five out of six players that scored goals in double figures last season return.
> The Owls had four players voted to the American Athletic Conference preseason All-Conference team. Hoffman, defense Courtney Taylor, midfield Bella Mastropietro, and forward Bridget Whitaker.
> Temple was third in the AAC preseason poll, as voted on by the league coaches.Â
> The squad is led by US Lacrosse Hall of Fame head coach, Bonnie Rosen. She is in her 15th season guiding Temple lacrosse.

> 2020 saw the Blue Hens only complete five games before the pandemic ended their season. Delaware went 2-3 in the matches they did play, winning their last two.
> Delaware was scheduled to play the Owls on March 20th last season.
> The Blue Hens expect to be led in large part by captain and Colonial Athletic Association honorable mention goalkeeper Kate Brewster. Brewster played every minute of Delaware's 2020 season in net and was top 30 in the NCAA in several key categories including saves per game (21st) and save percentage (27th).
