Lacrosse Faces Off Against Big 5 Rival Villanova

PHILADELPHIA- Coming off a blowout victory over Delaware last Saturday, the Temple lacrosse team will look to keep the good times rolling against Villanova Friday afternoon. This match will kick off a six-game homestand for the Owls. The 3 P.M. game will be broadcasted on ESPN+.
SCOUTING TEMPLE
> The Temple offense was simply explosive against Delaware. The Owls got multiple goals from six different players, including four hat tricks.
> Sophomore Mackenzie Roth stole the show with her four goals and two assists. Her goals were the first of her Temple career.
> On defense Temple held Delaware to zero goals for the first 17 minutes of the second half, allowing the Owls to extend the lead to double digits.
> Three Temple players garnered accolades from the American Athletic Conference. Roth won Attacker of the Week, Belle Mastropietro was awarded Midfielder of the Week, and Courtney Taylor was named to the Weekly Honor Roll.

SCOUTING VILLANOVA
> 2020 saw the Wildcats only complete eight games before the pandemic ended their season. Villanova went 3-5 in the matches they did play.
> The Wildcats have played one game so far, defeating Wagner 19-18 in overtime. They were scheduled to play two other games against St. Joe's and Stony Brook, but both were canceled.
> Villanova had four players named to the preseason All-Big East team. The group is highlighted by consensus selection Katie Comerford. Comerford impressed against Wagner with ten points including seven assists.

> Temple and Villanova are meeting for the 15th time in series history, with the Owls holding a 10-4 advantage.
> Villanova is currently on a three-game winning streak against the Owls. Last season the Wildcats claimed a 13-11 victory in the final game before the season was canceled.
