Women’s Basketball Heads to Wichita State for Saturday Afternoon Matchup

PHILADELPHIA — The Temple women's basketball team takes on Wichita State Saturday, Feb. 6 at 3 p.m.at Charles Koch Arena. The American Athletic Conference matchup will be aired on ESPN+.
THE OWLS
> Temple arrives in Wichita with a record of 6-7 (6-4 AAC). The Owls are currently ranked fifth in the American Athletic Conference.
> Senior Mia Davis leads the Owls with 18.6 points and 8.0 rebounds per game. In Wednesday's win over Cincinnati, the forward moved into fifth in program history in career points with 1,702 as she passed WNBA All-Star Candice Dupree's mark of 1,689. Davis also passed 900 career rebounds with a total of 906. The forward is chasing down Dupree's fourth-place record of 940.
> On Wednesday afternoon, Davis was named a Top 10 Finalist for the Cheryl Miller Award on Wednesday afternoon, as announced by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame and the Women's Basketball Coaches Association. This marks the second-straight season Davis has been named a top 10 contender for the prestigious award.
> Rookie Jasha Clinton is Temple's second-leading scorer with 13.1 points per game, while adding 4.0 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 1.8 steals per game for the Owls. Clinton leads Temple in three-pointers (20) and steals (24).
> Junior Alexa Williamson is the third Owl averaging double-digit points this season with 11.7 per game. Williamson boasts a team-best field goal percentage of 48.2% and adds 6.6 rebounds per game for the Cherry and White.
> Sophomore Asonah Alexander leads Temple with 5.8 assists per outing. The Prospect Park, N.J. native is also the Owls' second-leading rebounder, pulling down 6.8 boards per night.

> The Owls returned to the win column on Feb. 3 in Cincinnati with a 69-53 win over the Bearcats.
