Field Hockey Remains Home For Non-Conference Action

PHILADELPHIA - After splitting a home-and-home series against Villanova last weekend, the Temple field hockey team will host Monmouth and Drexel this weekend for a non-conference tuneup. The Owls will face Monmouth on March 12 and Drexel on March 14, with both games starting at 12 p.m.
Scouting Temple
> The Owls are 2-5 on the season after splitting the Villanova series last weekend.
> The Cherry and White defeated the Wildcats 1-0 on the road before dropping a 2-1 overtime decision Sunday afternoon.
> Temple dropped both games against the Monarchs by one goal, forcing a shootout in the first game after tying it 2-2 early in the fourth quarter, while falling 2-0 to Liberty in both games. The Owls held the Flames to a season-low in goals in both games.
> In the first RPI rankings of the season, the Owls come in at No. 24. The team finished the 2019 season at 56 in RPI, jumping 10 spots from 2018's finish. It also marked the first time since 2016 the team has finished the season above 60.

> Irene Frenken and Aylin Aufenacker lead the team with two goals each, while Annick van Lange firing 17 shots in just two games.
