Women's Tennis Travels to Virginia to Face George Mason on Friday

PHILADELPHIA -- Temple women's tennis hits the road for their third match of the season this Friday. The Owls will face the George Mason Patriots in Fairfax, VA. at 1Â p.m.

> Temple holds a 1-1 record after they swept Fairleigh Dickinson University (FDU), 7-0, in the home opener, but fell 5-2 to Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) last time out.
> Oleksandra Doroshenko and Vineetha Mummadi hold 2-0 records in singles competition so far this season.
> Following the match at George Mason, the Owls will travel home for five consecutive matches in the Greater Philadelphia region, three at home and two away at city foes Saint Joseph's and Villanova.

> George Mason is led by head coach Stephen Curtis in his 14th season leading the program.
> George Mason held a 5-5 record during the 2019-20 season before a season cancellation due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
> The Patriots return six student-athletes to the 10-person roster, adding two freshmen and two transfers to the mix.
> Paige La, a notable returner, finished her rookie campaign with a 16-6 singles record and 14-8 in doubles competition.
> La and her partner, Hannah Yang, recorded 12-7 in doubles and won the Loyola Invitational in the Fall of 2019.
> Sophomore Ashley Fitz-Patrick also returns after an impressive rookie campaign, finishing 15-4 in singles and 5-3 in dual action.
