Temple Football Holds Pro Day

PHILADELPHIA - The Temple Football program played host to its annual Pro Day this afternoon as eight former Owls participated in the event in front of a group of NFL scouts representing over 20 teams. With no NFL Combine this year, today's Pro Day marked the best opportunity for the athletes to showcase their talent in front of NFL personnel.

Prospective NFL players had measurements taken and did the bench press, vertical jump, broad jump, 40-yard dash, and three-cone drill. The former Owls also ran position drills to help showcase their talent with the ball or against another man.

The most recent former Owls to participate in this year's pro day were DT Daniel Archibong, WR Branden Mack, and CB Kimere Brown. Archibong put up 28 reps on the bench press, the group-high for the afternoon. Meanwhile, Brown and Mack ran the two fastest 40-yard dash times of the day in 4.56 and 4.64 seconds, respectively.

Former Owl Anthony Cruz topped the group in the other two tests, grading out with a 37" vertical jump, and a 10'4" broad jump.

RB Jager Gardner, DE Zack Mesday, and safeties Ayron Monroe and Benny Walls also participated in the event.

The NFL Draft starts on Thursday, April 29 and will be held in Cleveland, Ohio.
