Women's Rowing Announces 2020-21 Season

3.26.21 | Women's Rowing

PHILADELPHIA -- Temple Women's Rowing has announced its 2020-21 racing season after 500+ days without competition due to the COVID-19 pandemic. While the season schedule looks vastly different from years past with fewer races and less teams, head coach Rebecca Grzybowski is just happy the team gets to compete on the water again.

"I am beyond proud of how our team continues to meet every challenge with grace, perseverance, and commitment to each other," says Grzybowski. "Collectively, we are so grateful for everyone who has shared their time, energy and resources to help us get here, and we are so excited to have the opportunity to represent Temple on the racecourse this spring."

Temple kicks off the season this Saturday with a race against UConn, Rutgers and George Washington on the Schuylkill.

Medaling season begins in April with the annual Murphy Cup Regatta, Temple's signature event, on Saturday, April 3. The team then faces Navy in a one-off race on Saturday, April 10.

The Owls will compete in the Kerr Cup, hosted by Drexel, on Saturday, April 17. After a two-week hiatus, the team finishes its season on the Schuylkill River with the Kelly Cup on Saturday, May 1 and the Jefferson Dad Vail Regatta on Friday, May 7 and 8.

The American Athletic Conference Championship follows on Sunday, May 16 in Oak Ridge, Tenn., before the season closes out with the NCAA Championships from May 28 to the 30 in Sarasota, Fla.
