PHILADELPHIA -- Temple women's soccer (3-4-1, 1-4-1 AAC) heads to Oklahoma to face AAC rival, University of Tulsa (1-4, 1-4 AAC), this Sunday at 2 p.m. The game, at Hurricane Stadium, will be broadcast live on ESPN+.
The Owls
> After picking up back-to-back losses last week, Temple women's soccer looks to rebound versus the Tulsa Golden Hurricanes.
> Against SMU, a second-half rally from the Owls wasn't enough as the Owls fell to the Mustangs, 1-3. Niara Sapp netted her first goal of the season and Temple's lone goal in the matchup.
> Against Memphis, the Owls would be the first conference opponent to net a goal on the Tigers this season, but the lone goal from Gabriela Johnson would not be enough as the Tigers picked up the victory, 2-1.
Scouting Tulsa
> Tulsa finished the 2019 season 8-11 (2-7 AAC), placing last in the conference.
> This season, the Golden Hurricanes are currently 1-4, with their only win coming from an early season victory over UCF, 3-2.
> Last time out, Tulsa fell to Houston 1-4. Mia Darden scored Tulsa's lone goal while goalkeeper Emma Malsy recorded eight saves.
> While the Golden Hurricanes did not return any starters to their front line this season, the team did return six other starters and welcomed 12 newcomers. Among them is freshman Madison Tokarchik, the 2020 Gatorade Oklahoma High School Player of the Year.
Game Notes
> The matchup between the Owls and Golden Hurricanes marks the seventh time in program history that the teams have met, with the Owls record standing at 2-3-1.
> The last time the teams met was during the 2019 season where Tulsa beat Temple 1-0.
