Men's Basketball AAC Championship Bracket Set; Temple to Open with USF

PHILADELPHIA – The American Athletic Conference has announced the bracket for the 2021 Air Force Reserve American Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Championship and Temple (5-10, 4-10) is seeded ninth and will play eighth-seeded USF (8-12, 4-10) in the first game of the opening round. Tip time will be noon on Thursday, March 11 (ESPNU/1210 AM WPHT). The tournament is being held from March 11-14 at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas.
Temple, which paused basketball activities on Feb. 27, had played the Bulls in their last two games, winning 62-47 at USF to snap a six-game skid on Feb. 24 and falling 83-76 at home on Feb. 21. This marks the first time Temple has played the same opponent in three straight games in program history.
Wichita State (15-4, 11-2) earned the No. 1 seed after defeating USF on Saturday. It is the first time the Shockers have earned the No. 1 seed since joining the league in 2017-18. Wichita State opens the tournament against the winner of USF/Temple on Friday, March 12 at noon on ESPN2.
