Following a strong start to the 2025-26 season, Temple looks to build momentum when it hosts La Salle for its first Big 5 matchup on Tuesday night at the Liacouras Center.
The Owls opened the 2025-26 campaign with an 83-65 victory over Delaware State, leading wire-to-wire.
Temple shot 54.4 percent from the field and 65.7 percent on two-point attempts while holding Delaware State to 44.4 percent shooting.
Sophomore guard Aiden Tobiason led the way with a career-high 23 points and four steals.
Gavin Griffiths added 16 points on 7-of-9 shooting, Derrian Ford scored 14, and both Jordan Mason and AJ Smith contributed 10 apiece, with Smith scoring his 1,000th point.
Babatunde Durodola anchored the interior with eight rebounds as the Owls outscored Delaware State 46–30 in the paint and 10–2 in second-chance points.
Temple assisted on 15 of its 31 made field goals and forced 16 Delaware State turnovers that led to 21 points, setting the stage for Tuesday's meeting with the Explorers.

Scouting La Salle

La Salle enters Tuesday night 2-0 with wins over Coppin State (99-68) and Monmouth (73-60).
The 2025-26 season marks the start of the Darris Nichols era. Nichols joins the Explorers after four seasons at Radford.
The team returns only one player in junior guard Erick Acker, and features eight players listed at 6-foot-7 or taller.
Freshman Ashton Walker scored 18 points in his debut, the most by a La Salle freshman in at least 25 years.
Jaeden Marshall led the win over Monmouth with a career-high 26 points and a 12-for-12 mark at the line.
The teams last met in 2024-25, with La Salle securing a home win (83-75).
Their last Liacouras Center meeting came in 2023-24, a 106-99 Temple victory in triple overtime in what was the Big 5's first triple-OT game since 1980.
