Temple Signs Transfer Center Christian Beam

5.22.26 | Men's Basketball

PHILADELPHIA - Temple University men's basketball head coach Adam Fisher announced the signing of 7-1 center Christian Beam to the 2026-27 roster.

Beam spent his junior season at Georgia State in 2025-26, averaging 3.2 points and 3.9 rebounds in 15 starts and 26 total appearances for the Panthers.

"Christian gives us real size and presence on both ends of the floor," Fisher said. "He has shown the ability to rebound, protect the rim and is a lob threat around the basket. We're excited to welcome him to our Temple family and look forward to continuing his development on North Broad."

Beam posted a pair of double-figure scoring contests against Marshall with 11 points and Northern Illinois with 10, grabbing eight rebounds and 13 boards, respectively. He totaled 11 games with at least five rebounds this past season and shot an efficient 47.2 percent from the field. He posted multiple blocks in seven games and tallied at least one block in 15 contests.

A native of Woodland, Alabama, Beam spent his first two collegiate seasons in his home state at Southern Union State Community College in Wadley. As a sophomore, he averaged 8.8 points, 7.7 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 2.7 blocks in 31 games for the Bison, earning All-ACCC Second Team honors. Against Gadsden State, he totaled a 15-point, 20-rebound, 14-block triple-double and added four assists in just 26 minutes. He helped lead Southern Union State to the state championship game and a 19-13 record.

"I chose Temple because I felt that Coach Fisher and the Temple coaching staff truly believe in me," Beam said. "I'm confident they will help me grow as a student-athlete and as a man."

At Woodland High School, Beam was a four-year letterwinner under Justin Decker. He earned All-Randolph County Most Valuable Player honors after averaging 22.0 points, 13.0 rebounds and 9.0 blocks per game. He helped the Bobcats to a state championship appearance.

Beam becomes the eighth transfer to sign with the Owls, joining Dallis Dillard (Harlem, N.Y./IUP), Deuce Drake (Oak Park, Mich./Indiana), Jordan Marsh (Monroe, N.C./USC), Baboucarr Njie (Dayton, Ohio/UTSA), Cam Scott (Lexington, S.C./South Carolina), Edwin Suarez Jr. (San Juan, Puerto Rico/Weber State) and Dez White (Jefferson City, Mo./Oregon State). Returners from the 2025-26 roster include Gavin Griffiths, Cam Wallace and Olin Chamberlain Jr. Incoming freshman Derrick Morton-Rivera rounds out the current 2026-27 roster.
