  • DJ and Derrick became the first father-son duo in PCL history to both register 1,000 career points
  • Grandfather, Derrick Gathers, played at Dobbins Tech and Cal State Northridge (913 career points, WCC Second Team in 1988-89) 
  • Morton-Rivera is the grandnephew of Philadelphia basketball legend and Loyola Marymount All-American and all-time leading scorer Hank Gathers
