Conor McGrath Named AAC Men's Golf Player of the Week

4.14.21 | Men's Golf

PHILADELPHIA - Temple University junior Conor McGrath has been named the American Athletic Conference Men's Golf Player of the Week for the week ending April 13.  It is McGrath's first weekly honor by the conference and the first Temple golfer honored with a weekly/month player of the week honor since Brandon Matthews earned AAC Golfer of the Month twice during the 2014-15 season.

During the week, McGrath earned co-medalist at the Temple Spring Invite on Saturday, April 10, shooting an even-par 70 in the one-round tournament to help the Owls win their first tournament of the season.   He followed that by shooting an even-par (71-69) 140 at the Wildcat Spring Invitational (Apr. 11-12) to lead the Owls and tie for second overall.  His play helped Temple capture second at the 16-team event.

For the year, the Huntingdon Valley, Pa. native leads Temple with a 73.3 strokes per round average. He has also been the Owls' leading golfer in four of their six tournaments this season.
