PHILADELPHIA - Fencing assistant coaches Tasia Ford (sabre) and Melissa Forsythe (epee) have been named USFCA Women's Team Assistant Coach of the Year Finalists, as announced by the USFCA.

Despite the challenges of a shortened season due to a global pandemic, the Temple fencing team had another impressive season. Six fencers were selected to represent the Owls at the NCAA Championships for the first time in program history, with five competing, and finished in seventh place among the women's teams.

The sabre squad, led by Ford, recorded 62 individual wins and saw two Top-15 Regional Rankings before NCAAs. At the championship, sophomore Zoe Turner earned a 17th place finish with seven bout wins while senior Eva Hinds tied for seventh place and was named Second Team All-American.

The epee squad, led by Forsythe, recorded 68 individual wins and saw three Top-12 Regional Rankings before NCAAs. At the championship, sophomore Sarak Park finished 16th with eight bout wins while sophomore Margherita Calderaro earned a sixth-place finish and was named Second Team All-American. Calderaro also set the program record for the highest individual epee finish at the NCAA Championships.
