Temple Fencing Assistant Coach Tasia Ford Coaches Team USA in Budapest

12.12.25 | Women's Fencing

BUDAPEST – Temple Women's Fencing Assistant Coach Tasia Ford has been named the designated coach of the Junior Women's Saber Team at the Junior Fencing World Cup in Budapest this upcoming weekend, December 13th through 14th.

Ford joined the Temple Fencing staff as a part-time saber coach during the spring of 2020 before being promoted to a full-time coach for the 2020-2021 season. In working primarily with the sabre squad, Ford helped guide the 2023-24 group to a 32-9 mark, which was just three short of the sabre record set during the 2016-17 season.

Personally, Ford was a competitive sabre fencer who has been involved in the sport for almost 22 years. She started fencing at Beaches Sabre Club in New York before fencing in Junior World Cups. Ford placed third in the women's junior Sabre at the 2008 Montreal World Cup, and was then recruited to the Temple Fencing team, where she qualified for regionals all four years (2010-2014).

In Budapest, Ford will be coaching Team USA athletes in both the individual and team competition.
