Track & Field to Compete in Quaker Invite Saturday

PHILADELPHIA – The Temple track and field team returns to Franklin Field on Saturday, Apr. 17 for the Quaker Invite hosted by Penn.Â

About the Quaker Invite
> The Owls will compete against La Salle, Penn, St. Joseph's, TCNJ and Villanova.
> The meet will begin at noon with field events before the running events start at 3 p.m.
Last Time Out
> On Friday, Apr. 9, the Owls hosted their first home meet since 2018 with the two-day Temple Invite.Â
> Aisha Brown kicked off the meet with a second-place finish in the high jump with her mark of 1.70m.
> Tannekee Strachan jumped 12.03m in the triple jump for a first-place finish.
> In the 400m, Marissa White crossed the finish line at 55.64 for third place.Â
> Chelby Elam ran a personal-best 12.13 in the 100m to finish second in the event.Â
> In the 200m, rookie Chidumga Nkulume ran a personal-best 25.50 for second place.Â
> The 4x100m relay squad of Elam, Nkulume, Mallorie Smith and Jewel Ofotan finished second with their time of 47.10.
> The 4x400m relay team of Smith, Nkulume, White and Maya Scott finished with a time of 3:54.43 to earn the second-place spot.Â
> Alanna Lally ran the 800m in 2:06.28, just one second behind her program-record time, to win the event.
> Lea Kerbiriou finished third in the 800m at 2:08.06 followed by Helene Gottlieb in fourth at 2:09.41.
> Emma Gee led Temple in the 5000m with her second-place time of 16:17.37.
> Michelle Joyce finished fourth in the 5000m, crossing the finish line at 16:35.81.
> Grace Moore ran a personal-best 4:19.28 in the 1500m to win the event.Â
> During the break between sprints and distance events, seniors Mallorie Smith, Grace Moore, Kristian Jensen and graduate students Alanna Lally and Emma Gee were honored for their contributions to the Temple track and field and cross country programs.Â
