PHILADELPHIA - After splitting last weekend's series against Providence, the Temple field hockey team will hit the road to face No. 6 Liberty for the second weekend series against the Flames this season.
Scouting Temple
> The Owls are 5-7 on the season, splitting last weekend's series against Providence.
> Temple earned its first win over the Friars since 2014 with a 1-0 shutout on Sunday.
> Graduate student Veronika Novakova and freshman Cassie Romanczuk lead the team with two goals apiece. Novakova scored the game-winner in the season opener and the game-tying goal against ODU, while Romanczuk scored her first career goal in the 2-1 overtime loss at Villanova and the game-winner against Providence. Seven other Owls have found the back of the cage this season, with Kaitlyn Cummins scoring her first career goal in the 3-2 shootout loss to Providence.
> Novakova leads the team in shots with 19, while Claire Thomas ranks second with 14.
> Cristina Carotenuto has recorded 45 saves and four clean sheets this season and ranks 27th in the nation in GAA (1.25)
Scouting Liberty
>Â Liberty is 10-2 (8--2 BIG EAST) on the season, with its lone losses coming at both UConn and Old Dominion.
> The Flames defeated then-No. 12 Duke 3-2 in double overtime, and sit at No. 6 in the latest Penn Monto/NFHCA poll.
> The team ranks seventh in the nation in goals per game and scoring average, with Daniella Rhodes ranking third in the NCAA in goals per game (1.33). Rhodes leads the team with 16 goals, while Jill Bolton has fired a team-leading 44 shots.
> Azul Iritxity Irigoyen leads the conference in save percentage (.821) and is second in the BIG EAST in saves per game (5).

>Â The teams have met eight times, with the Flames holding a 7-1 advantage.
> Temple hosted Liberty for the first pair of games in this season's series, falling 2-0 in both after holding the team to a then-low for goals in a game.
