Track and Field Sets Sprint Medley Relay Record at Philly Mets

PHILADELPHIA – The Temple sprint medley relay squad of Chelby Elam, Alanna Lally, Chidumga Nkulume and Mallorie Smith broke the previous school record in the event by two seconds in Saturday's Philadelphia Metropolitan Meet at Franklin Field.

Meet Highlights
> The SMR finished second Saturday afternoon with their new school-best mark of 3:52.79, breaking the 2018 record of 3:54.53.
> The DMR quartet of Helene Gottlieb, Mary Olayinka Ilelaboye, Lea Kerbiriou and Grace Moore finished first with their time of 11:57.95.
> In the 4x100m, Elam, Nkulume, Smith and Jewel Ofotan finished at 46.45 for second place.
> Ilelaboye, Lally, Smith and Maya Scott finished third in the 4x400m with their mark of 3:47.12.
> Emma Gee earned a second-place finish in the 3000m steeplechase after crossing the finish line at 10:13.74, two seconds behind her program-best time of 10:11.48.
> In the 1500m, Moore earned the Owls' another first-place finish with her time of 4:19.56.
> Michelle Joyce ran a personal-best 16:31.61 in the 5000m to earn first place.
> Aisha Brown crossed the bar at 1.73m in the high jump for third place.
> In the triple jump, Tannekee Strachan finished third with her mark of 11.73m. Mariah Hubbard finished close behind in fourth with her mark of 11.57m.
