
Senior Spotlight: Nicolette Mayo, Women's Basketball

Nicolette “Nic” Mayo is a senior on the Temple women's basketball team. Mayo saw action in 28 games during her time on Broad Street. A strong leader, Mayo was named co-captain of the Owls during the 2019-20 season. The Hephzibah, Ga. native will graduate from Temple with a bachelor's degree in Media Studies and Production with a minor in Africology and African American Studies.
Owlsports.com caught up with Mayo, as she finishes her final semester of undergrad at Temple.

In the book of your life, what’s the title of the Temple chapter? Growth

What’s the best part about being a member of the women's basketball team at Temple/what will you miss the most? The relationships. I am forever grateful for the relationships that I was able to build while here.

What is your favorite memory of being a student-athlete at Temple? Winning the Big 5 Championship my junior year

If you could give advice to your freshman year self, what would it be? Hard work is going to pay off, so keep going. Never give up.
What are you future goals/plans? I want to be a coach and have my own talk show.

Is there anything you want to say to the sport of basketball as you leave it behind? Thank you. That’s it. Basketball has changed my life.
