Gymnastics Wraps Historic Season with Individuals at NCAA Regional Semifinals

4.3.21 | Women's Gymnastics

SALT LAKE CITY -- The Temple gymnastics team wrapped up a historic season with individual qualifiers Faith Leary and Julianna Roland competing at the 2021 NCAA Regional Semifinals. Leary competed on floor, while Roland competed both vault and floor, both finishing among the best Temple gymnasts ever in NCAA competition.

Leary dazzled as the final competitor of the night, sticking her passes and finishing with a career-high tying 9.900 on floor. That score was good enough to tie for third place overall, making her both the highest scoring and highest finishing gymnast for Temple in NCAA history, regardless of event.

Roland started Temple's night with a beautiful Yurchenko full, scoring a 9.850 to tie for 14th overall. That score tied teammate Ariana Castrence's score from the 2019 NCAA Regional to sit atop Temple's record book as the best NCAA vault score in program history. Roland also competed on floor, tallying a 9.500 to finish her night.

Temple will await results from tomorrow's NCAA Regional Finals to find out if Leary advances to the NCAA Championship Finals.
