Four Owls Qualify for NCAA Outdoor Track and Field East Preliminary

PHILADELPHIA – A program-record four members of the Temple track and field team will compete at the 2021 NCAA Outdoor East Preliminary Championship in Jacksonville, Fla. on May 27-29.

The Owls
> Alanna Lally's program record 2:04.62 in the 800m earned her a spot at the start line on May 27 at 7:50 p.m. in the first round of the 800m. The top three runners from each of the six heats plus the next best six times will advance to the 800m quarterfinals on Saturday, May 29 at 7:35 p.m.
> Aisha Brown will be the next Owl to compete on Saturday at 1 p.m. in the high jump. Her qualifying mark of 1.75m that landed her first place at the Raleigh Relays in March is tied with 10 other athletes in the East preliminary. 
> Emma Gee will race in the 3000m steeplechase on Saturday at 6:10 p.m. thanks to her program-best time of 10:11.48. Gee previously recorded a personal-best 10:04.84 in the event at the 2019 NCAA West Preliminary and fell just three spots outside of qualifying for the national meet. 
Grace Moore's program record of 15:47.98 in the 5000m ranks 12th in the East region. Moore will race in the 5000m semifinals Saturday evening at 8:30 p.m.
 
About the NCAA East Regional
> The meet will take place at Hodges Stadium on the campus of the University of North Florida. 
> The men's events will begin on Wednesday, May 26 while the women will start on Thursday, May 27. 
> The top 12 individuals in each event will earn a spot at the NCAA Championship, which runs from June 9-12 in Eugene, Ore.
