Gee Breaks School Record at NCAA National Championship

EUGENE, Ore. – For the third time this season, graduate student Emma Gee broke Temple's school record in the 3000m steeplechase with her performance Thursday evening at the 2021 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships.Â

> Gee ran a personal-best 9:56.19 in the second heat of the 3000m steeplechase as she reset the school record for the third time this year.Â
> The Broomfield, Colo. native finished 10th in her heat and 17th overall.Â
> Gee ends her impressive season as an All-American honorable mention.Â

> "It was a wonderful outdoor season, Emma's only season here at Temple," commented head track and field coach Elvis Forde. "She played an integral part in our success at the 2021 American Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships. She was able to end her career by leaving her mark on Temple's track and field program with a new record in the steeplechase here in Eugene."
