6.7.21 | Women's Track and Field

NEW ORLEANS - Temple track and field assistant coach James Snyder has been named the Mid-Atlantic Region Women's Assistant Coach of the Year, as announced by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

Snyder, in his eighth year at Temple, guided the Owls to podium finishes in every middle- and long-distance event at the American Athletic Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships. His group combined for 64 of Temple's 81 points for a program-best third-place finish. Throughout the season, the Owls set new school records in five events – 800, 3000, 5000, 10,000 and steeplechase.

Snyder will join Temple standout Emma Gee this week (June 9-12) in Eugene, Ore. as the graduate student competes in the 3000m steeplechase at the 2021 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
