Gee Set for NCAA National Championship

PHILADELPHIA – Temple track and field standout Emma Gee will race in the 3000m steeplechase semifinal tomorrow evening at the 2021 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships in Eugene, Ore.

About the NCAA Championship
> The 2021 NCAA National Championship is hosted by the University of Oregon and will take place at Hayward Field.Â
> Gee will race in the 3000m steeplechase semifinal on Thursday, Jun. 10 at 7:02 EST.Â
> The top-five competitors from each of the two heats plus the next-best two times will advance to the final race on Saturday, Jun. 12 at 6:24 EST.

> Gee has had an impressive season thus far with the Owls.Â
> The Broomfield, Colo. native broke Temple's previous 3000m steeplechase record in March at the Raleigh Relays with her mark of 10:11.48. Gee then went on to break her own record in the event at the NCAA East Prelims with an incredible time of 9:58.12 to finish third in her heat and eighth overall.Â
> The graduate student earned All-Conference honors with her second-place finish in the steeplechase at the 2021 American Athletic Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Gee also finished just shy of another All-Conference finish with a fourth-place time of 16:48.20 in the 5000m.Â
