PHILADELPHIA – Temple women's soccer looks to bounce back this Sunday, Aug. 22 as they travel to Rutgers for the second match of the season. The non-conference matchup will be broadcast live at 7 p.m. from Yurcak Field on BTN+.

Game Preview
  • Both the Owls and the Scarlet Knights have one game under their belt as Rutgers advanced to 1-0 and Temple fell to 0-1.
  • Temple is 1-3-2 all-time against Rutgers with the teams' last meeting in 2013. The Owls came up short against the Scarlet Knights with a final score of 2-0.

The Owls
  • Temple's season opener resulted in a 3-0 loss at Maryland on Thursday, Aug. 19.
  • Despite the Terps early lead, the Owls pushed the tempo in the second half. A strong offensive possession started by a Hailey Gutowksi on a run down the left wing led to a corner in the 51st minute. Emily Kavanaugh connected with the ball in front of the cage but sent it just over the crossbar, leaving the Owls scoreless for the remainder of the game.
  • Last year, Temple posted a final record of 4-5-1 (2-5-1 AAC) in the condensed season, finishing seventh in the AAC.
  • Temple returns leading scorers Lexy Endres (6), Gabriela Johnson (5), Hailey Gutowski (5) and Roisin McGovern (4).
