Nigel Griffith Named to AAC Weekly Honor Roll for Second Time

IRVING, Texas- After scoring his second goal in three games Saturday forward Nigel Griffith has been named to the American Athletic Conference weekly honor roll. For Griffith, it is the second time he has been named to the AAC honor roll this year following him earning All-Rookie honors at the conclusion of last season.

Griffith scored Temple's only goal in a 4-1 loss against No. 18 SMU. Tyquan Stroud found Mike Eijgendaal in the box, Eijgendaal quickly turned and found Nigel Griffith who fired the ball towards the goal. The keeper made the quick save, but the ball ricocheted off an SMU player and crossed the line for the score. Griffith now leads Temple in goals this season with two, he also has an assist to his name.

Temple (1-2-2) will be back in action Friday at 6 p.m. as they travel to UCF (3-3-0) in an AAC showdown. The match will be streamed on ESPN+.
