PHILADELPHIA – Temple women's soccer (3-3-3, 1-1-0 AAC) will close out their three game homestand this Thursday, Sept. 30 at 7 p.m. against Tulsa (5-5-1, 0-2-0 AAC). The match will be broadcast live on ESPN+ from the Temple Sports Complex.

The Owls
  • Temple picked up their first conference win of the season after earning the 3-2 comeback over Cincinnati on Thursday night. Despite facing a two-goal deficit by the 47th minute, the Owls scored three unanswered goals, including the 88th minute game winner from Carly Steinberg to punch in the win.
  • Kavanaugh was instrumental in the win over Cincinnati, notching a pair of back-to-back goals just three minutes apart to bring the game back to a draw. Kavanaugh now has a career high of six goals on the season, earning her spot as the team leader in both goals (6) and points (12).
  •  Hailey Gutowski and Lexy Endres have proven to be offensive forces this year as Gutowski has netted two goals while adding three assists. Endres has remained a consistent helper, dishing out four assists, including the game winning assist in the Cincinnati match. With four on the season, Endres is second in the conference for total assists.
  • Kamryn Stablein has proven her consistency this season, sitting at the top of the conference chart in both saves (53) and saves per game (6.62) while also ranking 24th in the national rankings for saves per game.
  • Forward Gabriela Johnson returned from injury on limited minutes last match for her first showing of the 2021 season. The standout forward looks to return as an offensive threat for the Owls, recording 27 career points on 10 goals and seven assists in her last three seasons.
  • With a 3-3-3 record (1-1-0 AAC), the Owls have moved up to sixth in the American Athletic Conference standings.
Scouting Tulsa
  • Tulsa enters the match with a contest record of 5-5-1 (0-2-0 AAC), dropping to Cincinnati and USF in conference play. Despite recording the loss to second-seeded USF, the Golden Hurricane put up a hard fight, forcing the match into double overtime before falling 1-0 late in the 108th minute.
  • Tulsa is led by junior Isold Runarsdottir who has netted five goals and an assist on the year while Liliana Fernandez trails with two goals and two assists for a total of six points.
  • Sophomore Reagan Beeding and graduate student Emma Malsy have split time in goal with Beeding recording 26 saves for a 0.839 save percentage while Malsy trails with 25 saves and a .694 save percentage.
