Gourdine Awarded AAC Freshman of the Week; Davis Named to Honor Roll

IRVING, Texas - The American Athletic Conference announced today that Temple freshman Aniya Gourdine was named this week's conference freshman of the week. In two games against ECU and USF, Gourdine tallied 18 points, 13 assists, and 13 rebounds. In the overtime loss against USF, Gourdine recorded a near triple-double, scoring 12 points while dishing out 10 assists and grabbing eight rebounds. In the game against USF, Gourdine played a career-high 44 minutes to lead all players.

Forward Mia Davis was also named to the AAC Honor Roll. Davis scored 41 total points and grabbed 11 rebounds as the Owls split their two games this past week. In the overtime loss to the Bulls, Davis scored a season-high 26 points on 9-20 shooting to go along with six rebounds.
