PHILADELPHIA – Temple men's tennis fell to city rival, Penn on Wednesday evening at the Hecht Tennis Center. This loss puts the Owls at 0-2 for the season while Penn advances to 2-0.

From the Coach
"We had a tough loss tonight against a really talented team," head coach Steve Mauro said. "We started out a bit slow in our doubles play and we could have been more aggressive, but scores were close. We had a lot of close matches in singles too and we really showed a lot of heart. It's still very early in the season and we are really looking forward to great things as we continue."
Next Up
The Owls will travel to New Haven, Ct. to face Yale in their third consecutive road match this season. The match is set for Saturday, Jan. 26 at 11 a.m. in the Cullman-Heyman Tennis Center.
Notes
- The Owls played the Quakers close in doubles competition but ultimately finished 0-3, dropping the doubles point.
- The Cherry and White and went on to play competitively in singles play, securing a point from Louis Gorregues in the No. 5 position, but dropped the remaining singles points.
