PHILADELPHIA – Temple women's soccer (1-8-4, 0-5-0 AAC) fell to conference opponent, Memphis (6-4-4, 2-1-3 AAC) on Sunday afternoon at the Temple Sports Complex. A 16^th minute goal from Memphis earned the Tigers the early advantage, followed by a 65^th minute goal to extend the lead to two.

How it Happened

Memphis exerted offensive force immediately, netting the first goal of the match by the 16^th minute after a string of shots led to a scramble in the box.
The Owls defense stood their ground, with efforts spearheaded by goalkeeper Kyla Burns as they closed out the first half, 1-0.
Memphis looked to extend the lead to two, finding their second of the day in the 65^th minute.
Burns continued to show her talent, recording five saves in the second half to close out the day with nine total stops, the second highest single game save performance of her career.

"Although the ball didn't always go our way in possession, we scratched out ways to get set pieces and attack," Head Coach Nick Bochette said. "When you're playing against such a talented team like Memphis, who is good in every position on the field, it's really important that you take the opportunities you earn and find ways to break through. Our team did a great job keeping the morale high and showing them that we can cause them trouble for a full ninety minutes."
