Owls in the NFL - Week 7

PHILADELPHIA -Week 7 of the NFL included a standout performance by former Owl quarterback P.J. Walker (2013-16) of the Carolina Panthers, as well as several wins for our other former Owls.

It was another Temple Football reunion, as former Owls - Sean Chandler (2014-17), Sam Franklin (2016-19), Matt Ioannidis (2012-15), P.J. Walker, and the Carolina Panthers took on NFC South division rivals, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers led by head coach Todd Bowles (1982-85). Carolina was able to end its losing streak, winning 21-3. Walker was once again the starter and completed 16 of his 22 passes for 177-yards and 2 touchdowns. Chandler contributed two tackles and Franklin contributed one tackle in this victory.

Chris Myarick (2016-18), Quincy Roche (2016-19), and the New York Giants stayed hot as they defeated the Jacksonville Jaguars, 23-17, to win their fourth straight game. Myarick contributed two catches for 21-yards in this win.

Jacob Martin (2014-17) and the New York Jets continued to roll, as they would beat Brandon McManus (2009-12) and the Denver Broncos, 16-9, to win their fourth straight game. McManus scored three points (1FG), making a 44-yard field goal, while Martin contributed one tackle.

Rock Ya-Sin (2018) and the Las Vegas Raiders were able to get back in the win column this week, defeating the Houston Texans, 38-20. Ya-Sin reeled in six tackles.

Arnold Ebiketie (2017-20), Matt Hennessy (2016-19), and the Atlanta Falcons lost to the Cincinnati Bengals, 35-17. Ebiketie contributed one quarterback hit.

The action began Thursday Night in the desert, as Michael Dogbe (2014-18), Robbie Anderson (2011-13, 2015), and the Arizona Cardinals defeated the New Orleans Saints, 42-34. Anderson played in his first game as a Cardinal and Dogbe recorded one tackle.

Haason Reddick (2013-16), Shaun Bradley (2016-19), and the Philadelphia Eagles had their bye week, as did Dion Dawkins (2013-16), Tyler Matakevich (2012-15), and the Buffalo Bills.
