Last Week

Temple (3-7, 1-5) fell in a heartbreaker to the Houston Cougars (6-4, 4-2) at TDECU Stadium in Houston, 43-36. The story of the game was the two quarterbacks. E.J. Warner threw for three touchdowns, while setting a Temple record for passing yards in a game with 486. Houston's Clayton Tune threw for 289 yards and three touchdowns, including the game winner with 40 seconds remaining. P Mackenzie Morgan scored his first touchdown of his life on a fake field goal, while TE David Martin-Robinson and WR Zae Baines each scored their first collegiate touchdowns.

Last Time vs. Cincinnati

The last time Temple played Cincinnati was last season when it suffered a disappointing loss to the then #5 Bearcats at Nippert Stadium, 52-3. The Owls fell behind 17-0 early before a 55-yard field goal by Rory Bell cut the deficit going into halftime. From there, however, the Bearcats took over in the second half, scoring 35 unanswered points to keep the game out of reach for Temple.

Last Time Vs. Cincinnati at Home

The last time Temple and Cincinnati faced off in Philadelphia was on October 20, 2018. Cincinnati came to Lincoln Financial Field ranked #20 and 6-0 on the season. The Owls were able to suffocate the Bearcats on offense and limit duel-threat QB Desmond Ridder to 111 yards through the air and nine yards rushing. QB Anthony Russo threw two interceptions late in the game, but led a seven play 75-yard drive capped off by a 20-yard touchdown pass with 49 seconds left in the game to force overtime. Russo followed that drive up with a 25-yard touchdown to WR Isaiah Wright to take the lead. The defense held strong in OT and LB Shaun Bradley ended the game with an interception on a third-and-long. Temple handed Cincinnati its first loss of the season, 24-17.

The Owls lead the all-time series over the Bearcats, 13-9-1. Temple has a record of 8-3 in games played at home against Cincinnati.
