Football Falls to #22 Cincinnati, 23-3

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - Temple (3-8, 1-6) fell to #22 Cincinnati (9-2, 6-1) by a score of 23-3. The story of the game was Cincinnati's defense that forced four turnovers while holding the Owls' offense to just three points.

Keys of the Game
- After a punt on the opening drive by Temple, a string of costly Owl penalties helped Cincinnati drive down the field, however, Temple would bend not break, making consecutive goal line stops to keep the game scoreless.
- With 1:19 remaining in the first quarter, Cincinnati quarterback Ben Bryant connected with wide receiver Tre Tucker for a 42-yard touchdown, giving the Bearcats a 7-0 lead.
- On the ensuing drive, the Bearcats forced a fumble to take the ball back. Starting the drive on the Owls 26 yard-line, running back Ryan Montgomery rushed in a 14-yard touchdown to add onto the Cincinnati lead, 14-0.
- With good field position once again, Cincinnati would get themselves into field goal range where kicker Ryan Coe would make it to give the Bearcats a 17-0 lead.
- The Owls would finally get going on offense and set kicker Camden Price up with a 43-yard field goal, putting Temple on the board, 17-3.
- Cincinnati safety Jacob Dingle would make a diving interception to take the ball back with 5:59 remaining in the first half, however the Owls defense forced a 3-and-out.
- To open up the scoring in the second half, Coe would give Cincinnati a 20-3 lead with a 37-yard field goal.
- Temple would then find themselves in the red zone but an interception by safety Byron Threats in the endzone stunned the Owls scoring hopes.
- The Bearcats would use this momentum to help tack on another field goal by Coe, to put Cincinnati up 23-3.
- On the ensuing drive, Cincinnati would force yet another fumble to take the ball back with 8:00 remaining.
- The Owls and Bearcats would trade possessions for the remainder of the game.

- LB Balansama Kamara made first career start and recorded first career partial sack.
- WR Jordan Diaz made first collegiate appearance.
- DL Jalen Satchell recorded his career high in tackles with four including a partial sack.
- OLB Layton Jordan added to his sack total, adding 2.5 sacks on the day, this gives him the team lead with a total of 9.
- WR Jose Barbon moved into 9th place in the program's all-time receptions total with 123.
