No. 9 Fencing Goes 4-1 at Duke Invitational

DURHAM, N.C. - In its final road dual meet of the season, the No. 9 Temple fencing team went 4-1 at the Duke Invitational and earned another top-15 win.
Meet Summary
> Temple fell in the first round of the day, with host No. 12 Duke topping the Owls 15-12.
> The Cherry and White rebounded in round two, defeating Boston College 15-12.
> The Owls edged No. 14 UNC 14-13 after being down 13-10, with four sabre bouts left to fence. Junior Emma Pincus clinched the win in the tiebreaker bout.
> In the final two rounds of the day, Temple dominated Air Force 20-7 and topped Brandeis 19-8.
Individual Highlights
> Both foil and epee went 4-1 on the day while sabre went 2-4.
> Pincus went 9-4 overall and Margherita Calderaro (epee) went an undefeated 8-0.
> In foil, Cassie Navalta went 9-0, Gretl Merges went 6-2, and Sarah Park went 6-3.
