ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Temple women's tennis (5-3) dropped to Navy (13-1), 4-3 on Friday evening in a back-and-forth battle.

"The team should be very proud of the way that they fought today," head coach Steve Mauro said. "Unfortunately, we came up a bit short, but Navy is an extremely strong team. Our number one, two and three singles performers did very well for us and I am very happy with our effort."

The Owls will return to action on Thursday, Mar. 17 at 10 a.m. as they host Delaware at the TU Pavilion for the first true home match of the year.
Notes
- Stefaniya Surikova and Evie Wei started off the day with a win from the No. 2 spot in doubles play but the Owls were edged by the Mids after dropping in the No. 1 and No. 3 spot.
- As the match advanced to singles play, the Mids struck first, claiming a point from the No. 4 position, before Jamie Wei got on the board for Temple in the No. 1 spot.
- Navy secured the next two points, to advance to four total points and earn the win.
