Women’s Tennis Triumphs Over Delaware, 4-3

CHERRY HILL, N.J. - Temple women's tennis (6-3) earned the win over Delaware (10-3), edging out the Blue Hens, 4-3 on Thursday afternoon. The Owls defeat over Delaware put an end to the Blue Hens four match win streak, where they ranked as high as No. 63 in the ITA National Rankings.

"I was thrilled with our doubles play today," head coach Steve Mauro said. "We followed it up with some very competitive matches in singles competition to end with a win against a very successful team. I'm looking forward to bringing that to the table tomorrow as we take on Penn."

The Owls will return to action tomorrow, Mar. 18 as they head across the city to take on city rival, Penn (No. 73) at 1 p.m.

- The Owls started off hot, earning the doubles point after Yining Tian and Veronika Kulhava posted a win from the No. 3 spot to shift the momentum in favor of the Owls. Evie Wei and Sena Takebe dropped from the No. 2 spot, but a win from Jamie Wei and Stefaniya Surikova in No. 1 position was just enough to take the team doubles point.
- The Owls carried their momentum into singles play, splitting the points, 3-3, solidifying the win after Vineetha Mummadi, Tian and J. Wei secured points for the Owls.
