PHILADELPHIA – After playing the first five home matches of the season at local indoor facilities, Temple (6-4) is set to open outdoor play at the TU Pavilion on Mar. 26 against Fordham (8-2) at 12 p.m.
The Owls
The Owls
- The Owls had a strong showing last week, securing a 1-1 record against highly competitive opponents, each who had received votes in the ITA national rankings throughout the season.
- The Cherry and White posted a 4-3 win over Delaware, who had received an ITA team ranking as high as No. 63 this season. The Owls claimed the doubles point, followed by a 3-3 singles split to earn just enough to come away with the 4-3 win.
- Temple looked to keep their momentum going as they matched up against No. 73 Penn but fell just short with a final score of 4-3.
- The Owls are led by Veronika Kulhava in singles play, who has posted a 7-2 mark with wins spread between the number one, two and four positions.
- Fordham enters the match on a five-match win streak, including 4-1 performances both at home and on the road.
- In the Ram's last two matchups, Fordham has earned two sweeps, downing Siena College, 7-0 on Mar. 13 and Marist College, 4-0 on Mar. 20.
- The doubles pair of Avery Aude and Valeriya Deminova have proved to be a powerful duo for the Rams, securing a 5-0 record from the No. 1 spot, the best doubles record on the team.
- Last year, the Rams advanced to the second round of the Atlantic 10 Championship after defeating Saint Joseph's in the first round, 4-1. The season came to end after the Rams fell to George Washington, 0-4
