The Owls won four straight matches to start singles

PHILADELPHIA – The Temple women's tennis team met Fordham in non-conference action on Saturday morning at the TU Pavilion, improving to 7-4 on the season with a 5-1 win over the Rams.

On Saturday morning, the Cherry and White won four straight matches to start singles. No. 2 position Vineetha Mummadi, No. 5 Evie Wei, No. 4 Yining Tian, and No. 3 Veronika Kulhava were victorious before Fordham's Avery Aude was able to break the Temple momentum from the No. 1 position. Sena Takebe would clinch the 5-1 victory for the Owls from the No. 6 spot.
Four of the five Temple victories came from straight-set victories.
The victory marked the team's first home victory at the TU Pavilion this season.
Doubles were not played on Saturday due to the forecast.
